Orange You Glad,,,,,,,

Yesterday I made this carrot, celery, orange and ginger juice for a little midday pick me up. I love this combo when my energy is a bit low. Since I've been drinking just straight celery juice this was a nice, sweet treat!
It was an orange kind of day yesterday because I made this creamy sweet potato soup for dinner! I made it with sweet potato, onion, garlic and red lentils. For seasoning I used cumin, smoked paprika, crushed red pepper and some liquid smoke. I had some cashews soaking for a meal I didn't want to make anymore so I added those while blending the soup for extra creaminess.  I also added a ton of nooch for cheesiness and the B vitamins. Doesn't it just look like fall?
I know this isn't food, but it is a cruelty free plant based cleaner that I found at Winco for under three dollars! So many eco friendly products are astronomically priced especially in comparison with the standard, toxic products. I feel a lot more people would make the kinder choice if it were at all affordable. This cleaner makes my counters sparkle and I love the fresh parsley scent. It's light and natural and doesn't reek of chemicals. Highly recommend!!

Winco really has so many amazing products and deals! I wish we had one!

    1. I figured out a way to walk to Winco taking back streets so I don't have to take the dreaded 200 bus! They do have great prices on certain things. It seems like they are on the west coast for now, hopefully expanding soon!

  2. Your photography and "food styling" skills are definitely on point. That sweet potato soup (with the scoop of rice set so neatly in the middle and the swirls of sriracha) looks cookbook worthy.

  3. Oh hey - I just noticed that gorgeous print behind your juice, too! It looks like something straight off a medieval tapestry. How beautiful. Where did you score that?

    1. It's by someone named Charles Prendergrast. I actually found it at a thrift shop.

    1. Soup is definitely the only thing I enjoy about fall/winter!

  5. That sounds like such a delicious juice combo! I love sweet potatoes in soup (ok, love them in anything except those terrifying combos with marshmallows involved), such a good idea to add the soaked cashews in. I have been using some canned cannelini beans when blending my soups to make them thicker and a bit creamy. And yes to all the nooch! It’s great on about any soup.

    1. I used to think I didn't like sweet potatoes, but now I realize that I don't like the texture. So it's perfect for me to use in blended soups.
It's funny that you mention cannellini beans as a thickner because that's what I was going to use until I realized I was out but I had the soaked cashews!

  6. Mmm... that soup sounds super yummy. I am hoping to make something similar this week. *crosses fingers*

Exactly about cheaper eco friendly cleaners! Sometimes cheaper can mean more eco friendly (though not always)

    1. How'd the soup turn out?
A lot of the earth friendly cleaners are more expensive which turns people off sometimes. But I notice more and more inexpensive brands are coming out so I hope that trend continues!

  7. Fresh parsley scent? I have never heard of anything like it! But great to find a good product at such a great price.

    1. It kind of smells like fresh cut grass. The scent is very subtle and it's just really fresh!
