Another Vegan Grocery Haul!

I finally made it to Trader Joe's yesterday. I've taken a little break from Joe because everyone loves him so much that it just gets so overwhelming. It was pretty hectic because SLC schools had the day off so lots of parents with kids but I charged through an made it. You guys it was so hard to walk by the tofu! Like my body automatically lead me to the tofu!!
Bananas, butter lettuce, ginger and turmeric tea, jackfruit, sweet potato, canned butternut squash, coconut milk, shredded carrots, tiny potatoes, russet potatoes, lemon, seaweed snacks, spring mix, frozen blueberries, red and yellow onion, chickenless tenders (not for me)
I picked up the chickenless tenders for a coworker who is not vegan, but interested. She's in college and thinks she'll go vegan when she's older. She's always getting the disgusting chicken tenders from the deli which just look like an abomination. I think she'll love these!
I also stopped at Smith's for a few things not available at Trader Joe's. They had a whole cart of vitamins and supplements on clearance and I scored a great multivitamin that's actually vegan!
Green olives,yellow lentil hummus,Thai style BBQ/Marinade, garbanzo bean flour,green onions,sriracha carrot hummus,mushrooms and woman's multi-vitamin

I try really hard not to buy packaged hummus, but Lantana was on sale buy one get one free, and I haven't been able to recreate their flavors so I went for it. I also use the containers for food for the stray kitties so I do reuse. I'm going to be eating lots of salads and I love hummus with salad. I really scored with the Rainbow Light vitamins. Luckily they are vegan. So many aren't!
This was my dinner last night. Butter lettuce(my fave), black beans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, green olives and a dollop of hummus. I seriously think every salad should have sunflower seeds!

  3. Butter lettuce is my favorite, too. But I must disagree about the sunflower seeds - I think every salad should have pumpkin seeds. Since yours has both, I guess you're okay by me.

    1. Do you use raw or roasted pumpkin seeds? I used roasted and salted sunflower seeds and raw pumpkin seeds. Nest time I'll try roasted.

  4. Oooh i love that butter lettuce mix at TJs! Those frozen chickenless tenders are actually made by/are Gardein brand, so if your coworker likes them more stores sell it. But TJs is the best price.
Too funny i have been adding a lot of sunflower seeds to my lunch salads lately! I got the huge $2 bag of the roasted salted ones from TJs. Great find on the hummus and vitamins! Does the multi have all the B12 you need? I have to take a seperate B complex to get all the B12.
You will have fun with the garbanzo bean flour!

    1. She loved them! I showed her the gardein brand and also morningstar farms which are now vegan too!
I think the multi=vitamin has a lot of B vitamins and I've also been adding a lot of nooch to my food. But I've been thinking of getting vitamin b drops and also maybe additional vitamin d.
I will be making lots of pudlas!

    2. The B12 is what to check for, can’t be found in any vegan foods and once there is a deficiency it can be very very difficult to reverse.
A B complex vitamin with B12 or B12 drops are good options.
In the winter vitamin D is a good idea, it is in fortified foods like almond milk but that may not be sufficient. So exciting she loved the chickenless strips! You’re so generous to help introduce her to new kind options :))

  5. You are so nice to your co-workers!!!
I love hummus with salad, it is such a great easy 'dressing' and adds so much flavour and a nice bit of bulk as well.
