Courting a New Roomie!

This was a super delicious dinner that I randomly threw together! I made some mayocoba beans, baked some tofu with lots of nooch and made some cilantro rice. I threw it all in a bowl with some sweet mini peppers, avocado, cilantro and some hot sauce. And it looked so pretty you just wanted to dig in. I don't know what's going on, but I've been finding great deals on avocados lately, and they've been so perfect and delicious!
So this is one of the stray cats that I feed. Somewhat recently he has started letting me pet him, and sometimes I'll sit outside with a blanket and he'll cuddle up to me under the blanket. I'm trying to get him to come inside to live with us. So I put the girls in my room with the door shut and opened my front door. He came in, ran out an came in several times. It was a little like sensory overload I think. So I put some food close enough to the door, but inside my apartment and he did eat inside. I let him explore, but kept the door open so he didn't feel trapped. It's going to be a process, but I hope he'll move in with us!
Happy New Year!!

  1. Happy New Year!!! What a sweet little boy, I hope he'll come in and get out of the cold. It's really incredible of you to try to bring him in and I hope that everyone will get along and be the best of friends!

    1. Happy New Year! I hope so too. I tried again this morning but he was too scared. I'm going to keep trying though.

  2. That bowl looks absolutely delicious! Love all the colors. That's the gauge I use to monitor how well I'm eating - if I'm eating all my colors regularly, I figure I'm getting all my nutrients.

Hope you can get that poor little baby inside before it gets super icy out there. Good luck!

    1. I definitely feel better when I have a meal with so many colors, and you're right you just kind of naturally know you're getting all the stuff you need.
I tried with him again today, we're getting closer!
