Chocolate and Curry

I treated myself to some chocolate yesterday. The Endangered Species salted peanut dark chocolate bar is really hard to find. It always sells out at Smith's. If you liked Mr.Goodbar in your pregan days, this bar is for you! The other bar is a super dark or as Susan would say Angry chocolate with tart cherries. It's just okay. To me the tart cherries are a bit much with the angry chocolate.
Of course I had red lentil and potato curry for dinner! Last week I scored a ten pound bag of potatoes for $1.49!! So I have been having potatoes with everything. Also I just adore this dish. It's easy to make, cheap, makes a lot and it doesn't taste like you're eating a budget meal. I added peanut butter to this batch which takes it up to a whole new level.
I've also been adding this sauce to my curries. It's a little sweet, has a decent amount of spice and has a little vinegar-y kick. I've had this in my fridge for awhile, I can't remember where I got it. But it's good stuff.
Little Buddy wouldn't come in today. This has been a very different experience than in the past. Most cats I've rescued from outside kind of decide one day that they want in and that's it. But this has been much more of a process. I think maybe he's a little older so maybe that's why it's scarier? I don't know but I hope he chooses us soon, it's cold out there!!

    1. When I go too long without potatoes I really, really miss them!
The sauce is really interesting. It's no green dragon sauce but I love it!

    1. I seriously have curry at least once a week! I used to be horrible at making them, and now that I figured it out I can't get enough!
I hope he does too. He's been scared the last couple of days.

  3. Oooh those chocolates sound so good! I had serious chocolate cravings the other day and chopped some dark chocolate that i whisked into hot almond milk for some hot chocolate. So good! That red lentil potato curry with peanut butter sounds so perfect for a cold night. I just made this braised cabbage stew that uses tomato paste and tomatoes and peanut butter- sounds crazy but it’s delicious, just takes a long time to simmer and let the cabbage get silky

    2. Probably similar to the pb stew i love!! It’s based on the traditional west african one just modified to be vegan and i tweaked it over the years to what i like with more tomato paste and usually some kale or other sturdy greens

    2. I don't even remember what Mr. Goodbar was like but that sounds lovely (I adore salty sweet things)
    3. That is a REALLY cheap bag of potatoes! They've been cheap here, too, so I need to figure out what more to do with them.
    4. You're a good soul to want to take care of a frightened kitty. Hope he sorts himself out soon.

    1. I know! When Susan said she likes her chocolate bitter and angry at the world I died! I like less angry chocolate myself! Ha!
I'm kind of feeling overwhelmed with the potatoes now! I still have so many!! But what a great deal especially if you have a big family!
Thank you.I hope he decides it's safe in here soon!
