Garlic Jalapeno Hummus

I whipped up this delicious garlic jalapeno hummus yesterday, and it's one of the best batches of hummus I've made! It's creamy and spicy and extra bonus, oil free. I'm not against oil, but I feel like it's sometimes used when it doesn't need to be. Tahini adds enough fattiness to hummus so oil feels like overkill.  I used these pickled, tamed jalapenos I found awhile ago on sale at Natural Grocers. They're really tasty, and not too spicy.
It feels silly to post a hummus recipe since it's so easy to make, but this was really delicious and I actually wrote down the ingredients so here goes.

                                                      Garlic Jalapeno Hummus
  • 4 cloves roasted garlic
  • 1 clove raw garlic
  • 2 T. tahini
  • 2 T. pickled jalapeno(plus more for garnish)
  • 1 can garbanzo beans or two cups cooked garbanzo beans
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Add all ingredients to a food processor and whiz away until nice and smooth and creamy. I used maybe two tablespoons of water to help it along. Top the hummus with a spoonful of pickled jalapenos and get to dipping!

Here's Roxy after taking a sip from the toilet! Etta likes to drink from the bathroom faucet, Roxy likes to drink from the toilet, and Kanye likes to drink from the top of my Brita when I fill it up. Cats!!

  2. Hey again, here's some great recipes for crackers and bread made out of seeds. I know I would miss bread and crackers so much if I had to keep away from them.

    1. Thank you so much! It's driving me crazy, especially because gluten free breads and crackers are so much more expensive!!

    1. Glad Roxy isn't alone. I know dogs like toilet water, but cats drinking from toilets is new to me!

  4. Yeahhh I love jalapenos on just about anything, hummus sounds like a nice way to balance out the burn, too.
I've been putting tahini on everything lately, it's so good.

  5. That looks so good! It looks like the same texture as restaurant hummus which is my favorite. I love how versatile hummus is and you can flavor it any way you want.

Your cats are so mischievous, I love it :) I'm sure they keep you on your toes in the best possible way.

    1. It turned out nice and creamy. I don't know what I did different, but the texture was almost perfect!
They absolutely keep me on my toes, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
