I Scream for NadaMoo! Vegan Ice Cream

Quite awhile ago I had gotten these Tres Pupusas on sale and have been saving them for a rainy day. Well, yesterday was that day, and funnily enough it actually was a rainy day! I had a hankering for crinkle cut fries, so I decided to have a bit of a cheat meal, but the green salad balanced it all out, right? To be honest, the pupusas are probably one of the healthiest, cleanest processed foods I've come across. The ingredients are masa flour, olive oil, black beans and corn. I plan on hunting down masa flour in the near future and making my own. I made them once when I lived in Seattle, and they're very easy to make. Anyway, this was a very tasty meal. I dipped the fries in sriracha ketchup which is seriously so delicious! I think I've seen sriracha mustard which I definitely want to try too.
The star of my day yesterday was this Nada Moo chocolate ice cream. When I was a kid, chocolate and also Neapolitan ice cream were always my favorite. Even as an adult while I do love other flavors, and ice creams with stuff in them, I still prefer plain chocolate with no frills. It's hard to find plain vegan chocolate ice creams, everyone feels like they have to add a bunch of stuff. Since I had coupons, I had picked this up and guys, if you love chocolate ice cream you will DIE when you taste this! Actually, you will feel like the hills are alive with the taste of chocolate! This is hands down the best chocolate ice cream I have ever had, vegan or not. The chocolate flavor is rich, and it's sweet but not too sweet and it's soooooo creamy! If I ever make it to Austin, Texas, I will visit their headquarters and hug them all! I think I might be as obsessed with this ice cream as I am with Green Dragon sauce!
Here's Etta pressed against my legs as I was doing yoga. Everyday is yoga with cats at my place! Most of the time I have Etta on one side and Afro on the other side! But ever since Etta was the tiniest kitten she has loved helping/bugging me when I do yoga!
Happy Earth Day!

  1. I have never heard of Pupusas but now definitely want to try them. This is why I like your blog so much, I'm always finding new things to try. I've never seen the ice cream in my small town and usually have to travel to the bigger towns about 40 miles away for things like that. I'm going to have to get an ice cooler or something in case I find that ice cream next time I go. Always love seeing the cats too. I don't know how to put a picture on here but I have two cats that are spoiled and very much loved.

    1. Pupusas are so good! I plan on finding masa flour this week and making some. I'll definitely post the recipe when I do. Masa flour is pretty easy to find in most groceries, and then you can fill however you like!
I hope you can find the NadaMoo, it's soooooo good!
I can't wait to see your kitties!

  2. Great find with the pupusas! Coconut based ice creams are the best out there, they stay nice and creamy. It's really hard for me to buy ice cream because the market that sells it is a good half hour from my apartment and even those cool bags don't keep stuff frozen. I made this recipe a few times last summer with trader joe's coconut cream and it was so easy and really delicious!

    1. I agree, coconut milk ice cream is the best. I think because it's fatty it really makes it nice and super creamy! Thanks for the link, I've wanted to try making my own, but i don't have an ice cream maker, this looks great!

  5. Cats are excellent at yoga.
I delved back into my records and it looks like the Nada Moo flavour I had when I was in Austin was the chai one. Have you tried that?
The chocolate sounds good! You are right, a lot of chocolate ice creams to have extra add ins.
My favourite ice cream flavour is actually strawberry, and I find it really hard to find just a nice, pink all through vegan strawberry ice cream. But I did find a So Delicious one that I like! Even though it is coconut based, it isn't too much for me.

    1. I haven't tried the Chai, but that is a flavor that I need to try. I love Chai so much!
I love strawberry ice cream too, and you're right I don't know if I've ever seen just a plain vegan strawberry ice cream. I haven't seen the so delicious one anywhere. I kind of like just plain, simple ice creams.
