If your into superfoods and all that, I would check out Grocery Outlet if you have one in your area. They have a whole aisle full of hemp seeds, chia seeds, coconut everything, noni juice, which seems pretty superfood-y, and all kinds of raw bars and supplements and just all kinds of random stuff.
I have to admit when I see the prices, it makes me even more suspicious of some of these companies, and also stores like Whole Foods. To be honest, even if I were rich, I wouldn't shop at Whole Foods. I don't want to be part of that whole expensive food chain, and only certain income brackets have the luxury of the best foods. I got a few things there when I first moved here, and I always felt broke and dirty afterwards. Anyway, I could go on for days about my feelings on the politics of food, maybe someday I will try to organize my thoughts into one clear post. But for now, I will just say that I heart Grocery Outlet so much! I didn't get the Chao slices at Grocery Outlet, but another grocery was having a sale, so with all the money I saved at the outlet, I treated myself. It's been a rough couple of weeks, and I needed the loving arms of Chao in my life!
All in all I spent like twenty five or six dollars, and I saved forty four dollars! That's my favorite part of Grocery Outlet is the end, when you see what you would have spent if you shopped elsewhere.
Do you like thrifting, and stores like Grocery Outlet? Have you shopped at Grocery Outlet?
