The Budget Goes Marching On

Here's another delicious smoothie I enjoyed yesterday. This was blueberries, apricot, banana and mango with hemp seeds and maca powder. If you're wondering why my smoothies haven't been that blue it's because I was using my blueberries sparingly to stretch them out. I've been enjoying the apricots in my smoothies. I don't know if I've ever had fresh apricots before.  It's been so nice being able to enjoy smoothies with fresh fruit.
For dinner I made Lemon-y garlic Greek potatoes with added herbs. I used some Italian seasoning and lots of dried rosemary. I don't use rosemary nearly enough, it's a really delicious herb! Yesterday was a blustery, gloomy day so this was a nice, cozy meal.
I had kitchari for breakfast but didn't feel a need to show a picture again. It'll be much more interesting when I have something different for breakfast! I'm definitely not feeling bored yet. I plan on spending my remaining fifteen dollars tomorrow. The sale at Sprouts will still be going on so I'll take advantage of that, and get a few things at Trader Joe's.
I saw on Instagram today that Susan's cat from Kittens Gone Lentil is sick. I'm sure you've all seen the adorable pictures of Dim Sim. She has cystitis. She will be getting some more tests tomorrow, but poor Susan is understandably scared and upset, especially so soon after losing Sahara. I just wanted to share so we can flood she and Dim Sim with love and super powerful positive thoughts and prayers if prayer is your thing.
Here is a very irritated Kanye. She was sound asleep in her favorite box, and I was sneaking in to take a picture, and Etta and Afro twisted around my feet making me trip and rudely wake her up. Poor girl! Afro is constantly trying to steer me towards the front door because she is obsessed with being on the deck and trying to sneak down the stairs!

  1. Oh no, I hate to hear that about Dim Sum. Poor Susan!! I will send Dim Sum positive healing vibes!

As for those potatoes, yum! You get so creative with your potatoes. I'd probably just end up doing the same thing all the time. Ha!

    1. I know. I was so upset when I heard about Dim Sim. As of this morning she was doing a little better, just waiting on more tests. Poor thing, and poor Susan.

  2. Aww poor Dim Sum! I will also be sending lots of healing vibes.

Your lemony potatoes look incredible. I still need to make my lemony potatoes and vegan feta for greek salad! This is definitely inspiring me to do so :) Your smoothie sounds so unique, interesting and refreshing!

    1. I know, I hated hearing about poor Dim Sim. She responded well to the pain meds and seems to be doing better. Susan is just waiting on more test results. So scary.
The potatoes were so good with the addition of herbs.
The smoothies have been so good this week. I'm so grateful that Sprouts had such a super sale on produce!!

  4. I believe God does hear our prayers for our fur babies as well as for our human needs. I have seen and experienced many answers to prayer for big and small needs. We have to pray and be specific for those needs. I had a text today from a preacher in Asia and that was what he spoke of. God will hear and answer our prayers, if we ask and believe. Have a good day. Glad that Dim Sim is better.
