Things That Made Me Smile!
I don't know why I didn't know this existed, but I didn't. Until yesterday when I was reading an article talking about how Toto's Africa is the new Don't Stop Believing and Weezer's remake was mentioned and linked. And Weird Al is playing Rivers Cuomo! It made me smile and I couldn't resist sharing.
This was a really tasty breakfast. I toasted up two slices of BFree gluten free bread and had it with spicy yellow lentil hummus(so good) and sliced Persian cucumbers. This was sooooo good!
I had the best dinner too! I made some buffalo chickpeas and had them on top of a salad with butter lettuce, carrots and red onion. I topped it all with daiya blue cheese. This salad was definitely not bland or boring at all. This had different textures and temperatures and was very flavorful! It would have had even more textures if I would have remembered to add the sunflower and pumpkin seeds!

Yay! I love this post! It's always nice when the small things can bring a little happiness to your day. Weezer's version is fun and I'm pretty sure Toto actually ended up covering a Weezer song in tribute but I can't remember which one. The meals look absolutely delicious, that salad is restaurant worthy!!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the song either, but I know the article I read mentioned Toto covering a Weezer song. I think that's so cool!
DeleteThat breakfast looks mouthwatering. Plus, I love the gorgeous rectangular plate. It looks like the raised design is vaguely Asian or something. As always, excellent presentation.
ReplyDeleteThe design is very Asian. I have two of these plates plus these little saucer/bowl things that look like they're made for wasabi for sushi.
DeleteI love the song Africa and I love Weezer! It took me a second to recognise Weird Al there. But it was a fun video.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever watched the TV show Chuck? There is an epic cover of Africa in it that I love. I can't hear the song without thinking of Jeffster (the fictional band in the TV show that did the cover).
I always wanted to watch Chuck but sadly never did. But I did just Google that scene and it was pretty epic. Honestly it makes me want to see if Netflix has that show.
DeleteIf you get a chance to watch it, I recommend it. I love it. If we lived closer I would totally loan you my DVDs.
DeleteWell, Netflix doesn't have it, but I'm going to switch to Hulu for a little change and maybe they will have it. It should be hopefully easy to find streaming. Or also the library might have the DVD.
