Big Lots and Ends

Little mini haul from yesterday. Harmons has the big six serving bottles of Synergy Kombucha on sale, so I picked up a trilogy flavor. back in the day when GT's was one of the only kombuchas you could easily find, trilogy was my favorite flavor. And as an added bonus I love reusing the bottles for water. I also happened to be by Big Lots again, and I found this ginger lemonade on sale for forty cents a bottle! I'm slapping myself for only buying one, because I know this will taste great on a warm summer day! I also picked up the A-1 because it's one of my favorite sauces for fries. And I'm sad but also happy to report that all of the big jars of Just Mayo are gone, happy because people bought them, but sad because I was going to buy one and tuck it away. I'm also happy to report that the gross bacon mayo was still on the shelf! Vegan for the win! Speaking of Just Mayo, I read this article the other day about Hampton Creek changing their packaging and thought it was interesting, and I also wanted to share so you don't miss your favorite Just products. I really like them because they seem really, really dedicated to bringing their products to the masses, including keeping their prices reasonable. Because honestly some vegan specialty foods are just ridiculously priced and seem to only appeal to a small vegan niche.
I had a long day and wanted something simple for dinner. Fries to the rescue! I made wedges seasoned with nooch, garlic powder and lemon pepper. And also a little smoked salt. Dipped in lots of A-1. This hit the spot and made me happy.
It's super hard to get a picture of Etta's face. I've mentioned before that she is camera shy like me. So this picture made me so happy, we can all see her gorgeous face. Of course Afro looks like she hit the cat nip extra hard!

  1. I must confess, I've never been a big fan of potatoes. They're okay mashed and I like "unhealthy" preparations like fries and hashbrowns and tater tots well enough, but pretty much I can live without them just fine. But for some reason, since reading your posts every day, I'm now craving oven roasted potatoes. Not a joke! I swear. It's very weird.

Oh, the power of good advertising.

    1. I've always loved potatoes, but ever since doing the potato cleanse last year I just really crave them. If I go more than a couple of days without eating them, I go crazy!

  2. I think I'm going to have to take a trip to Big Lots on Monday to see if they have anything good on sale. Your finds have been amazing! I had some oven potatoes last night and definitely thought of you. Mine weren't as pretty as yours but they were so yummy :)

    1. I hope you find some awesome deals. When I was there the cashier was telling me they were having an awesome sale on Elf cosmetics which I know are cruelty free, but I don't wear foundation or anything, but she quoted some great prices. It really is like thrifting or going to garage sales.

  4. You make me want fries EVERY DAY. I don't think I've ever tried them in A1. Must try this! I bet A1 would be good mixed into some Just Mayo. :-)

We don't get Just Mayo here, I am hopeful that one day it shall appear on our shelves! We get Vegenaise, which I love.

  6. I LOVE how snarky Just (Mayo) is! One of the reasons I adore them! They were bullied and they WON! A wonderful company!
