Eighty Degree Bang!

June has really come in with a bang here in Seattle. Yesterday was in the upper eighties, and today it's supposed to be eighty as well. It's so weird because when I lived in Seattle before, June was usually a cooler, rainy month. The joke was always that summer started after the fourth of July. It makes me sad that sometime in my lifetime, I'll be talking to a "youngster" and I'll have to explain to them what it was like to live in a world with actual seasons. I sometimes feel like I'm forgetting myself. I brought my fan in from the deck, and it's always hilarious to watch the cats have to sniff it, and be scared of it until they get used to it.
I have to buy a pair of shorts today, or a skirt which I prefer to shorts anyway. Being the minimalist that I am, I pretty much rocked one pair of shorts last summer, so they are beyond trashed. I at least can say without a doubt that I got my moneys worth! Wish me luck because I really loathe clothes shopping, and I really hate trying stuff on and figuring out if it "suits my body type"
Speaking of shopping, I know I mentioned this Pacifica face scrub I got at Target the other day, but I have now used it, and it gets all the thumbs and paws up from me. It is right where I like my face scrub to be, right in the middle. It isn't so gentle that you don't feel any exfoliation happen, but it isn't so rough that you feel like you are punishing your face for some reason. Also, a little dab will do ya, so you don't have to use a ton of product which is nice.
It'll never make me as cute as this face!
I will definitely buy this again. I don't think I've ever tried a pacifica product that I haven't loved when I think about it. They have a perfume that is some kind of Gardenia, maybe Tahitian Gardenia, I don't know it's been awhile but it is seriously one of my favorite scents. I want to live in a field of Gardenias!
For dinner I made a meal that will be repeated a lot during the next few months. Rice with oven baked tofu, avocado, sweet chili sauce and sriracha. So simple and satisfying, and it's filling without that super full feeling. Also, it's all quick cooking which is nice in the summer.

I swear, tofu with a little coconut oil rubbed on it, a little salt and pepper and a 350 oven equals tofu perfection. I've been making my tofu this way for over a year now, and it turns out perfect every time!
Well, I'm going to take a deep breath, maybe give myself some positive affirmations and try to find some type of summer bottom that works for me. Yikes!
Happy Monday!

  1. Can't go wrong with Sriracha! YAY! OH!!!!!! You know how the weather is over here...well...it's been CRAZY this year as you and I have chatted about...but...there have been many days where we have been in the mid 90s already! I wonder if that means we will be in the 115-120 range by Fair time in August! LOL

    1. Already? That's so crazy, I would be so scared of what the rest of the summer will be like! Did you even get a spring, or did it just go straight from winter to summer?

  3. It was in the 80s/90s here until a big storm came in last night and now it got as low as 50! What the heck?! It is a little warmer today, 60-70 but man it feels good to have some cool air again.

    1. It hasn't been as extreme here, but it still has been up and down and just kind of weird. I feel like an old fart, but back in my day it wasn't like this, seasons were much more defined, and routine.
