Trader Joe's Haul Time!

Cabbage, lemons,Romaine, rainbow carrots, spinach, frozen mango, mandarins, and garlic

Persian cucumbers, pineapple juice, yerba mate, Jasmine rice,Chai tea, garlic tahini sauce, and dark chocolate crisps

I made it to Trader Joe's! No skurvy this time. I'm proud of myself, I stuck to my list. The only impulse buy was the chocolate crisps.
They kind of look like they'd be chocolate covered chips, but they are just in that chip, or crisp shape.
They are extremely rich. I guess I've never had Belgium chocolate before. These are a great treat if you are watching your weight, because seriously a few of these at a time is all you need.
I had also gotten hard taco shells. I know they are not authentic, but for some reason I had a mad craving for a crispy taco. Anyway, when I went to heat up the shells, I was very dismayed to find that EVERY SINGLE SHELL WAS BROKEN!! This is one of the casualties of lugging around groceries. I was having one of those days where little things kept going wrong, and back in ye old days this would have been the straw that broke it all. But, after a short freak out, I just heated up some half shells, and had open face tacos. Tacos on the half shell if you will. Next time I crave crunchy shells I will make sure I'm carrying a lighter load. You live and learn, right?
A couple of people commented on my review of  the Amy's mint chocolate chip ice cream and suggested E-Mailing the company about the issues I had. I just wanted to say that I did E-Mail them on Wednesday, as of today, (Friday) I still haven't heard anything, but I will definitely share what if any response I get. I do think that it was probably freezer burned, maybe  that is why it was on sale, if so shame on The Central Market. But in addition it just didn't taste good, so we will see what happens.
I made this stuffed pita sandwich for breakfast, and it is totally random, but turned out so delicious, I thought I should share. I roasted one potato with paprika, salt, pepper, and turmeric. I then slathered a whole wheat pita with this garlic tahini sauce which is maybe my favorite sauce/condiment EVER,  added the potato pieces, shredded Romaine, and then a drizzle of Dijon. It was filling, and the tahini sauce just made it so rich and garlic-y! Aren't random meals sometimes the best?
Happy Friday!

    1. I love them too! I love Aldi. Trader Joe's owns Aldi, or the other other way around, so I bet they both have a lot of the same products, just different packaging.

  4. Yay, great haul! I'm glad I read this today because I'm heading over to Trader Joe's tomorrow and I have a few things to add to my list ;) Mostly the tahini sauce and the chocolate things. I actually have a lot of the same things on my list too. The pineapple juice sounds good too!
