I was so impressed with the FYH ranch and blue cheese, I had to try their Caesar dressing. My Romaine lettuce has been begging for it! I had tried the Heidi Ho spicy chia cheeze, and was impressed so I decided to try the smoky flavor. I've been thinking about trying to make a vegan version of a Carbonara sauce and I think this might be a nice addition. Did you know that the founder of this cheese was on an episode of Shark Tank and one of the sharks invested or whatever they do, and it really bumped up sales? Pretty cool.
I drank this kombucha yesterday. It's from GT's, and it's carrot, ginger and turmeric. It is the best flavor I've had from GT's. And that includes my all time favorite, ginger. The turmeric taste isn't too sharp, which I find to be true of other turmeric elixirs. Everything is balanced perfectly. I also like the bottle. Here's a little better picture.
With all of the other kombucha options in Seattle, GT's is my least favorite. But honestly, this flavor knocks everyone back a peg. Unfortunately I have only seen this at Whole Foods but if you see it and like kombucha, it's worth a try.
I haven't tried the Coconut Dream yogurt. I love that there are soooooo many vegan yogurt options! Despite it all we are making progress!!
If you read my second post yesterday, you know that kite hill has made the best cream cheese period. You know how some vegan things we know aren't as good as the original, but we learn to like it and say it's the best vegan fill in the blank. And than there are some substitutions that are just the best, vegan or not. Just Mayo comes to mind. In my opinion that is simply the best mayo I have had. Well, that's how I feel about kite hill's cream cheese. Delicious. And these bagels, fresh really is better. If anyone lives in or around Seattle, check for these bagels. They're made in Redmond and just wow.
Even a scrooge like me loves the cute wrappers! |
What is that? Oh, it's just a VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE!!!! Every stinking time I go to Vegan Haven, they are out of this flavor. The last time I was at Whole Foods they were out of this flavor. I am super excited to try this, because I've already had the original New York style cheesecake and it is amazing! Say what you will about daiya cheese, but they really nailed the cheesecake. And yes, it has been entirely too long since Coco Whip has been in my house. Whole Foods seems to be the only store to carry this in Seattle.
MidWeek Munchies happens every week, and Jennifer from My Blissful Journey started it, and it's so much fun to see what everyone is eating and new finds and all that stuff!
Happy Wednesday!
Great finds! OMG that Vegan Chocolate Cheesecake...WHA??? lol :) YUMMO!
ReplyDeleteI was bummed out by those peppermint stars too! I guess it needed more of that candy cane flavor, not peppermint. I know that sounds crazy but there is a sort of sugar creaminess to a candy cane, you know?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, the peppermint isn't so bright and in your face with candy canes. Did you ever try the candy corn bars? They tasted like a push-up pop, or some kind of orange ice cream treat from my youth.
DeleteThey were good, but I was slightly disappointed. Like I would totally get them again, but I guess I wanted more candy corn flavor to it. Nor was I a HUGE fan of the chocolate topping. I've been debating to get more of the candy corn one (I think my Whole Foods TOTALLY overstocked it) but I know I probably shouldn't be getting ice cream, I mean my freezer is pretty full already XD
DeleteI know what you mean, in no way shape or form did they taste like candy corn! I was hoping to find some still lingering at the Whole Foods I was at, but no such luck. I'll remember that next year.
