Creature of Comfort

I liked the chocolate brownie cookies so much that I had to pick up the chocolate chip version. I haven't baked them yet, but I will report back when I do. I don't know if it's the holiday season or what but I've just been wanting cookies lately!

Saturday night I was feeling a little blah and in need of comfort so I made some gochujang stew with tofu and rice cakes. This really, really hit the spot. This was nice and spicy and warmed me right up!

The blahs kind of continued yesterday. I was wanting more comforting, simple food. I remembered that I picked up this gravy packet awhile ago, and so mashed potatoes it was!

I threw a couple of garlic cloves in the water with the potatoes so they got all soft and kind of sweet and then mashed it all together.
The Gravy is really, really good. The mushrooms give it a rich deep flavor. It definitely doesn't taste like instant gravy.  The brand is Road's End organics, it kind of got cut off in the picture. This is the second or third gravy I've tried from them and I like them all. But the shiitake is my favorite!

I think I might like the mango passionfruit better than the grapefruit which is saying a lot! My poor kitties, always being used as the cutest props ever!
