Back In The Kitchen!

I made some buffalo hummus yesterday, and it turned out fantastic! I just added about one fourth cup of this buffalo sauce to the usual hummus ingredients. Next time I'll probably add half of a cup because you know me, I like it spicy!!
I also made some black bean and rice soup. I used adobo seasoning for the first time, and I really enjoyed it. It's a mix of garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper, oregano and sometimes dried citrus.I'm not a fan of chili powder which I find too strong, but this is the opposite of chili powder. This soup had wonderful flavor, but it was nice and mild and kind of let the beans shine. Now I know I can add adobo to my spice collection!
I have a lot of goals for this new decade, one of those goals is to get in my kitchen again! I wasn't much of a cook when I first went vegan, then after a year or two I started to teach myself how to cook, and I loved to dream up things to cook. I was either in the kitchen, or dreaming of being in the kitchen. I just lost that feeling through 2019. Actually, I lost a lot of feelings. I feel like I let depression take the wheel for most of 2019. So, I want to try and reignite my kitchen passion, along with other passions. Even though hummus and soup are pretty simple, it still felt nice to get in there and create!
Luckily for me, these delicious Turkish delights are considered holiday candy, so I found this box at Winco for seventy percent off! I saw a video of someone making Turkish delights, and it didn't look impossible to master. Maybe this year I'll try and make my own!

  3. I haven't ever seen adobo seasoning here, but sounds like something worth hunting out.

  4. A friend got me into the Aplets & Cotlets from that company and I love everything I can find from them. I have to order it from across the country so I haven't had any in a really long time. I never thought of making my own, and I hope you blog it if you do that because I would absolutely love to learn.
