I have another small haul today. I did make it to Trader Joe's. Even though I got there early, it was still pretty busy. I was thinking I just need to go there like once a month and stock up on my favorites and then just go other places the rest of the time. Because they do have some unbeatable prices on certain things.

I also stopped at Smith's and Natural Grocers for a few random things. I wish Natural Grocers were cheaper because I would do all my shopping there! There is never a crowd, in fact sometimes I'm the only one shopping! But I guess if they were cheaper than they would have more crowds.

I'm very excited to try these! I can't have most of gardein's products because they have gluten. I can have the black bean chipotle burgers and the beefless ground. Until now. These are new at Natural Grocers, I don't know how long the actual burgers have existed. They're made with brown rice and veggies, and totally gluten free!! And they were on sale for $3.45!!! I know super real veg burgers are all the rage, but I really prefer actual veggie burgers, but I still want it to be flavorful and not super dry and healthy tasting. I really think these will be great!!
Apparently Kroger/Fred Meyer/Smith's wants to get in the vegan game as well! This is their store organic line and they already make a pretty decent vegan ice cream. Now they're making deli slices I'm assuming to mimic tofurky. These are so new they didn't have a price sign yet, but tofurky slices are $3.49 at Smith's so these will probably be a little cheaper!!

That's awesome that those Gardein veggie burgers are gluten-free; I hope you enjoy them!

DeleteYay for awesome hauls and new finds!! I'm so glad you can have those Gardein burgers and that they were on sale! A less splurgy splurge is always the best! That's awesome that they have the deli slices too, I've been wanting to get some tofurkey because I've been wanting a wrap but I just haven't yet. Too bad we don't have Kroger, Fred Meyer or Smith's… boo! I also need some popsicles in my life!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel. I like a splurge on sale! But I feel like gardein is kind of a safe bet. I don't think there is a gardein product I don't like.

I haven't seen those Gardein veggie burgers before, but that is awesome that they are gf so you can have them. I too like a good veggie burger (emphasis on good though, I've had a lot of terrible ones sadly). I hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many terrible ones!! I know Hilary's burgers are very popular, but I find them to be dry and flavorless. Before I went vegan, I loved the morningstar farms veggie patties and also gardenburger brand veggie burgers. They were veggie filled, but still a little greasy and burger like you know? I feel pretty confident that gardein will nail it!!
